YOUR CONTRIBUTION, EXPLAINED.

A $1 contribution. A separate processing amount. One total to review before you pay.

What you pay

Stripe Checkout shows the contribution and processing amount as separate line items. Check the currency and final total before confirming. Your bank may apply its own currency conversion or other charges.

What “$0” means

WE CHANGE ONE’s stated model is no platform commission from your $1 contribution. This is different from saying that the project’s Stripe account never receives the payment.

Where the payment is processed

When a recipient’s connected account is configured, checkout is created on that account. Otherwise, checkout is created on the project’s own Stripe account. The integration does not justify a blanket claim that WE CHANGE ONE never receives or holds contributions.

Does The One receive exactly $1?

The goal is $1 for The One after processing. The current processing amount is a configured addition, not a calculation of the final Stripe fee for each payment. Actual fees can vary. Exactly $1 net cannot be guaranteed until fees and any difference are reconciled.

Confirmation and payout

Completing checkout, a payment being confirmed and funds reaching a bank account are different stages. Payout timing depends on Stripe and the receiving account. Keep your Stripe receipt or payment reference.

A problem with a payment?

Use the merchant contact shown on your Stripe receipt for a duplicate, incorrect or unrecognised charge. Do not share your full card number, security code or banking password. A refund request does not itself mean a refund has been approved; applicable rights remain unaffected.
